I have been lucky enough to have been asked to be a part of the Tayeh Dance Company for the 3rd year in a row. The first
year, I came out to L.A. for a month during my Senior year of High School for Sonya’s 1st show “The Root of Me”. What I
experienced in that one month opened my eyes to a whole world of dance I had never known. The training, the dedication, the
love for the art, and the passion Sonya had was contagious. I was so inspired by the experience I decided this was the kind of
work I wanted to do for a living. When I was asked to be in her second show “Battles” I moved out to Los Angeles to begin my
career. I was so lucky to be apart of such an amazing show with such gifted caring dancers to work with after just moving to
the big city. I have now been blessed enough to be apart of her third show after living out here for a year. The work ethic of
every one of the Tayeh dancers is unbelievable. I have never been surrounded by such positive and hardworking artist. Every
time I leave rehearsal, I can honestly say I am inspired and have witness everyone growing in a new way. With out the
training and the love of Sonya, I would not be the dancer that I am today. Because of her and the dancers apart of this project,
I feel myself growing in to a stronger, better dancer and person everyday I train with them. This next show “The Endurance to
Move”, will be just more amazing if not more than Sonya’s last two shows. I am so honored to be a part of such spectacular
project and can not wait for many more to come!

My experiences working with Sonya have been influential challenging and inspirational. She creates an aura of energy that
pulls drive out of people to push themselves even harder than they knew was possible. S has set a new standard that has
been lost in LA for discipline and respect in rehearsals as well as on the stage. Her choreography has been set apart from
everyone else's and it is so interesting to see first hand how her brain works and how the creativity never stops flowing from
her mind and body. There are not many people i trust with my body and its improvement but her knowledge of its form,
structure and placement is one of kind and its apparent that she has done the research to be teacher and choreographer that
will be remembered through time.
